1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Uncumber Theatrics is holding auditions for WEE BEASTIES--a shadow play about fleas, disease, and a girl named Louise--on Saturday, June 10th 1:00 PM-4:00 PM at the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh – South Side location.

We are looking for performers who can act in silhouette with clean, expressive movements that can convey what the face cannot. Each actor will also do puppet work throughout the piece, so we are looking for people who bring with them a sense of play and whimsey. As with all our productions, we seek out those who are willing to experiment and devise with us, and take active roles as creative contributors to a work-in-progress.

We are auditioning for FOUR main roles: MAN, WOMAN, CHILD, MONSTER. Any gender, age*, ethnicity, body type, etc. can play any role. *Auditioners must be over 18+. Each role will be given a stipend of $250.

Please prepare a 1-minute monologue which we may have you perform in profile, behind a light screen, and/or with shadow puppets. Please bring a headshot and resume at this time. You can sign up for an audition slot here:

If you are unable to attend auditions, video auditions can be submitted in .mp4 form, along with headshot and resume, to We ask that you incorporate silhouette or shadow into your video submission in some way. The deadline for video auditions is Monday, June 12th.

Performances will take place August 18th-27th at the Bitz Opera Factory in the Strip District (accessible from the 88, 86, 91, 87 and 54C/D bus lines). Rehearsals will start mid-July (schedule TBD). Feel free to ask any clarifying questions at
